As the most numerous of all BR mainline diesel locomotives and found on all regions of the network, this lack of rarity meant that they never quite achieved the cachet of less numerous mainline locos such as the Westerns and Deltics. However the Western Region saw fit to name 18 of their 47s, a move which marked them out from the rest of the class. Living in the Eastern Region these became the ones we all wanted to see and fortunately they would occasionally venture onto our part of the network at the head of summer specials or on cross country services.

About our paper

All our prints are printed using water based inks on sustainably sourced 315gsm Cold Press Watercolour Paper (CPWP). A 100% cotton rag paper with a matte finish and a tight, highly textured surface resemblant of etching paper.

Modelled after a true old world watercolour paper the natural white, OBA free base of this archival quality ‘cold press’ paper lends a traditional feel to our archival inkjet fine art prints.

The rough textured surface is coated with a matte coating, compatible with both pigment and dye inkjet printers providing a stable base for our images and ensuring they last for years.
