As someone born in the '60s and who didn’t live in the Western Region the Hymek was a loco that I never saw in service as the last few members of the fleet were withdrawn in 1975, the year I started to venture out onto the rail network. Despite this I knew the Hymek well as it was a popular Hornby model and the loco of my, and many an enthusiast's, childhood train set. My only memory of seeing one was D7029 which for many years was parked up in Kings Meadow sidings just outside Reading station.

About our paper

All our prints are printed using water based inks on sustainably sourced 315gsm Cold Press Watercolour Paper (CPWP). A 100% cotton rag paper with a matte finish and a tight, highly textured surface resemblant of etching paper.

Modelled after a true old world watercolour paper the natural white, OBA free base of this archival quality ‘cold press’ paper lends a traditional feel to our archival inkjet fine art prints.

The rough textured surface is coated with a matte coating, compatible with both pigment and dye inkjet printers providing a stable base for our images and ensuring they last for years.
